StepNpull Door Opener

This is a StepNpull door opener. The metal piece in the photo above would be attached to the bottom of a door, allowing doors to be pulled open by foot. In the early months of the pandemic, the extent to which COVID-19 could be transmitted through surface contact was unclear. Merrimack College installed StepNpulls on many doors around campus to prevent the possible surface transmission of the virus. While it later became clear that surface contact is not the primary way COVID-19 is transmitted, such door openers remained in use throughout Merrimack’s campus to prevent any spread of not only COVID-19 but other diseases and viruses as well. This tool has helped keep the Merrimack community safer and healthier.
